The Shiraz SA Wine Challenge, launched for the first time in 2013, is Shiraz SA’s annual competition to select the twelve winning Shiraz wines and three winning Shiraz blends.
A panel of judges evaluate the wines entered over a period of three days and the results are announced at an Awards Function where the wines that have made it into the final round (20 Shiraz and 6 Shiraz blends) are presented at a tasting.
Shiraz SA supports the Pebbles Project. All the wines left over after the judging has been completed are donated to Pebbles to be used in their various fundraising events and auctions.

The annual Shiraz technical workshop is one of the most important events for any producer of Shiraz. A wide spectrum of subjects on Shiraz viticulture and winemaking are presented by local and international speakers. Marketing and sales trends are discussed and the wine tastings cover interesting topics such as clones, terroir, international wines and benchmark examples. The workshop normally coincides with the AGM and is an ideal opportunity for producers to get together to exchange valuable information and brainstorm.
